Current Events<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It Seems it never ends. That’s because it doesn’t. I won’t recount the assassination of the president, the riots, the recent earthquake, storm or gang violence and kidnappings. Just google “Haiti News:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Suffice it to say I believe God blesses us so that we may bless others, and He gives us ample opportunity to do so. I call to mind a quote, allegedly from a mid-sixteenth-century statement by John Bradford<\/u><\/a>, “There but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford”, in reference to a group of prisoners being led to execution. I feel that way when I consider my brothers and sisters at Zamar ministries in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti. I could have been born in Haiti, I had no control over that. But I am pleased that God chose for me what He has so I can share His blessing with those who need it. Absolutely 100% of all donations go directly to feed, cloth, provide shelter and education for Hattian widows and orphans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (NIV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n From Ezekiel 16:49 “Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.” (ESV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Board Meeding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n A Zoom Board Meeting was held 8\/29 to discuss current needs, which were primarily food, means to get funds through broken infrastructure in Haiti, and repairing damage to the School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, Mr. Doug Kerl was officially added to the Board of Directors, although he has been a major contributor and partner for years. Though it is a little more expensive than replacing the plywood and repairing old rafters, USD goes pretty far with local labor and material.
