Generosity starts with the eyes. Before we give, we have to see.
This week, our cooks in Haiti will set out hundreds of plates for children who came to school hungry. Each plate is a small act of seeing: someone noticed a child, and chose to share.
God promises a blessing to the one who shares food with the poor. We see that blessing every day in our schools: in a child who can finally focus on a lesson, in a parent who sends their child back the next morning, in a classroom that stays full.
May this verse open our eyes this week to the people around us who need someone to notice them.
